On Saturday, September 24th, 2005, at 10AM, hundreds of Bay Area yoga practitioners will perform 108 Sun Salutations at Golden Gate Park’s Sharon Meadow. Yoga teachers from Bay Area schools have been secured to promote and draw practitioners to this event. Funds raised by OM for Kids will benefit the services offered by Covenant House California in the Bay Area. Such services include street outreach to homeless youth, a youth crisis shelter, and a host of counseling, educational, job training, and recreational programs.
The OM for Kids Yogathon for Covenant House California will start at 10 a.m. The performance of 108 Sun Salutations will take between 1.5 and 2 hours to complete. There will be some musical performance afterwards as well as booths of beverages and food provided by sponsors.
